VE Day 70th Anniversary

We held a wonderful day of celebration, reflection and learning to mark the 70th anniversary of VE Day.  Over 60 parents and community members joined us for a street party bangers and mash lunch.  We learnt to jive dance, played shove h'apenny and hopscotch.  Children learnt as if they were in the 1940s and discussed life as evacuees, life in the Blitz and wrote prayer chains for those who gave their lives in the fight for peace.
We ended the day with an impeccably observed 2 minute silence and The Last Post.
