A New Start – In class assembly this week we were thinking
about new and fresh starts. We listened to the story of Zaccheus who was a
dishonest tax collector with no friends. We heard how after meeting Jesus he
changed his ways and turned into a good person, giving money to the poor
instead of stealing it. We talked about how a new school year is a good time to
make a fresh start and make some changes for the better, for example trying
harder, being kinder, ‘having a go’ even if something seems difficult. We sang
one of our favourite hymns ‘Who put the colours in the rainbow?’ and said the
Lord’s Prayer together.
